Bilge pump help

Im pretty sure one my bilge pumps fried. Its white and about a foot by 4-5in wide about, couldnt catch the brand its dirty. Either way These things are under the engine and to be frank im not ripping out an engine for this pump, i might be able to get at this but I dont know. Any ideas on what kind of pump, tricks or techniques.

Fountain's generally ran Lovett 1200 bilge pumps. They're pretty good but use an unusual belt drive inside the outer cover. There is a rebuild kit available with a new belt - which may be all that's wrong with yours. Of course getting to it to pull the cover will be the bigger issue.

Before you get silly though, do you have power to the pump? Is the fuse blown? Is the pump running but not pumping? Have you tried back flushing it?

it runs, but nothing comes out you just hear a noise. How you back flush.

To back flush, simply run a hose to the bilge pump outlet on the side of the boat and flow water back in. See what comes out of the pump. If the motor is running and it won't pump (on a Lovett pump) though, the belt is probably broken.

if you can't get to it, stick any old rule pump next to it and use the stock wiring. then fix next time engine comes out.
