Ok. Some add info. Stalls at 160 degrees. Restarts and stalls with IAC unplugged. Should run with it unplugged if that is the issue? restarts and stalls with ETC unplugged. Should run really rich if that was the issue? Wont restart at all with MAP unplugged.

will it idle w/ the throttles slightly cracked open?

Pull the IAC out and see how dirty it is. They get full of crud and start to hang up. Use some Carb and Choke cleaner and clean both the pintle and the bore in which the IAC sits. When the crap in there gets hot, it gets gooey. That could be causing it to stick.
You can also remove the IAC and see if it works. When it acts up, shut the engine off and pull the IAC. Plug it in, turn on the key and see if the IAC pintle moves. Be careful to not let the pintle come all the way out. You can hold it back with your finger. If it comes out, it's junk. If it doesn't move, it's no good. Eddie |
Well, cleaned the IAC with carb cleaner and ran the motor and it was fine this time around so that was probably it.
Thing is I also did what your not supposed to do and cleaned the MAP sensor and fuel pressure regulator vacuum ports while I was in there with the carb cleaner, so......... Thanks all for the guidance. |
