502 EFI issue
 

Hey guys,

Last week when out, I slowed the engines down to idle and port engine started to stutter and would back-fire and eventually turn off when applying throttle. Tried to crank it, would turn over but no run.. 30 mins later, cranked it and the engine started up and ran perfectly.

Just today when I was out, the exact same happened but on the starboard side but this time died on take off, cruised on one engine and 30 mins later.. the starboard engine started right up. Exact same symptoms; RPM stutter, sound of back-fire, applying throttle would cause the engine to die..

Im no gear head so i'd appreciate all the feedback i could get. The engines are 502 EFI's

Ttheres a milliom posts on this,, welcom to vapor lock in the 502 and 454 efi/mpi's. as fuel is getting worse and eng compartments getting hotter due to sound deading whooolaaa. Try running you blowers at leat 5-10 min after you shut the engines off.. If thats doesn't work you wil be doing what I just did and finished a couple days ago.. Running return lines back to the tank... Not fun
