Quick question about the the skeg???
 

I have a buddy that has a bravo outdrive and we held a straight edge to the skeg and it is slightly curved to the right if your out of the boat looking at it. Is this normal or should it be perfectly straight? My boat is at the house so I havent checked to see if mine is straight or not to compare. Thanks for the help guys.

ok I though so. Can you heat it up and straighten it?? He is wanting to heat it with a torch and try to bend it back straight I told him to hold on and let me get some advise first lol dont want to snap that thing off thats for sure.

I don't know if its right or wrong but I have always beat them back with a dead blow cold if they were just tweeked a little. I'd think if you break it off doing that it was probably cracked from the original impact anyway.

We straigtened a buddy's once using blocks of wood and big c-clamps. No idea how it got bent but using no heat we were able to get it back pretty straight.

Pretty sure they are made of Aluminum alloy? heating it would do nothing since aluminum does not bend it breaks best bet would be the wood clocks and hammer.
