Bravo HELP! Lost forward today.
Well the time has finally come-I lost forward in my Bravo today. I was coming onto plane and it just let loose. The prop is still spinning in forward but it won't take any power. It's acting like a slipping clutch. When I finally got out of the water I gave it a quick go on dry land and didn't hear any grinding. In forward I can spin the prop in both directions, when in reverse it will only spin the way it's supposed to(ps. the motor was off when I did this-Lol). Is this a common failure and what did I destroy? Any help would be great! I never had a Bravo break, so I don't know squat about the parts inside. Any help would be a major plus right now especially since July 4th is in 4 days. Thanks guys!:confused:

Most lilkey you broke the floor out of a gear. What year is the drive?

Hey Mbam.....My buddie and i are kicking around the idea of buying a Bravo lower to keep for spare {Hes not having a good year}
Any good deals ? |
You don't think it is a drive coupler do you? When I burned mine, if acted just like a spun hub on the prop. Of couse the billow of black rubber smoke indicated otherwise.

Birdog, are you looking for a complete drive or just the lower? We have the latest version Bravo for $3800 (new & complete)

Mbam, The boat is a 99. I will assume the drive is too. This gear is under the top cap correct? If so do I have to pull off the drive for the repair or can I do everything from the top? I hope that doesn't sound like a really dumb question. Thanks.:confused:
