Bravo Three lower unit bearing retainer removal
 

I have a 99 Bravo Three. My lower unit bearing retainer has pitting from electrolysis. How involved is it to remove retainer and replace? I know a special tool is needed for the job. Is it a good idea for someone that's never done the it before to give it a shot or just pay to have it done?

Any advice will be appreciated
