1993 38ft Scarab
 

I have a 1993 38ft with Carborated twin 502's I am not very familiar with the fuel system but I believe it is called
"sea water fuel system" the fuel pumps are belt driven and I would like to do away with that whole system and run electric fuel pumps. Does anyone have any suggestions or information I do not want to tear it up.

Why would you want to get rid of all that??? It works just fine. Adding electric pumps will do nothing for performance, and just create more work.

It only takes a few seconds of cranking to fill the carb bowls with gas with the mechanical pumps.

BTW, Welcome to OSO, you'll get honest advice here but sometimes it might not agree with what you want to do.

That system works well I would not recommend going to electrical fuel pumps.

When I bought my boat the Blown up motor was not in the boat so when I finally got my new engine installed I found out I was missing some of the accessories to make the belt driven fuel pump system work. Instead of tracking down all the missing parts I decided to make it easier on myself as I was unfarmiliar with that style fuel pump. I installed a new holley red fuel pump before the fuel water separater and wired it to one of my extra toggles on my dash. I have to remember to turn it on and off, but to me that isn't a big deal. That being said I have 100 hours on the setup now and it's been trouble free. I'm not saying its better then what you have, but it was eaiser at the time.

The Holley red a 5 psi pump (going off memory) and is a marine grade pump.
