Yes, I am doing this now. Let me guess, no speed and course information from the Garmin to the monitor and no fuel flow information from the monitor to the Garmin.

I have not tried it yet so I was looking for feedback. I am primarily looking for fuel flow. Please keep me posted!
Thanks!

Mine is installed and working. If you want fuel flow data to the Garmin you MUST get a data level 2 or higher Mercmonitor. Data level 1 does not transmit fuel flow.

Good luck.

  1. I read here that existing (analog) fuel and trim gauges won't work after installing the MercMonitor. Is this true? Is there any way to split the signal so they'll still work?
  2. I have two fuel tanks, is it possible to get SmartCraft/MercMonitor to know about both of them?
  3. Is the required parts list in the link above for boats without existing SmartCraft gauges correct? (harness, junction box, terminator, fuel sender cable)

Thanks.
