502 Low Oil Shutdown?

Do stock 502's have a low oil shutoff? I had a remote oil line rupture while running around 3200rpm and the engine cutoff. No alarms or high temps were shown. Dipstick shows no oil.

No, it just sets off the alarm.

Does it crank over? Hopefully you didnt lock it up.

I lost an oil filter at 5000RPM (I believe sabotage). The low oil alarm went off and I immediately shut it down. Next day filled it back up with oil, ran it on the hose for a bit, pulled the oil filter off and cut it open. All looked clean and ran it for another 4 years.

I hope you are as lucky.

No alarms went off. Didn't notice or hear any noise other than engine shut off.

Engine turns over so not sure extent of damage. Good thing it had less than 5 hrs on it from rebuild last year.:poopoo:
