Default 1990 BW rage 14 steering question

I'm trying to fix a rage 14 at school (learning to be a marien mechanic obviously) and i need to find a complete steering set up, from what i gather i need a rack, line, connectors and what not. the boat has nothing for steering right now except a wheel, and hub, then hub bolts up to "The rack" by teleflex and my teacher is not 100% sure that the rack will work, I beleive its a generic picture.

I figure this would be a good place to start looking since i cant find hardly anything about the Rage, or any steering system for the rage other then people needing new steering lines..

Any help is lovely

Do you HAVE the "helm unit"? This is the unit that the steering wheel bolts to and the steering cable connects to.

When you say "the rack", do you mean that you DO have the rack piece along with the pinion set and hub adapter? There are "rack style" steering cables, and there are "coil up" style steering cables.

Contacted Whaler yet? They have a seriously good customer service department and can refer you to the correct part numbers for anything you need.
