Streaming audio with Bluetooth?????

So I am looking at a new headunit. I want to stream audio using bluetooth. If I do this can I use my iphone 4s to change song, artist, playlist? Or do I have to walk into the cabin and use the headunit?

It would be nice if I still have control from my phone because then the phone kinda works like a remote would.

What single DIN headunits would be good for this? I also want one that I can use the fader with preamp outputs to seperate cabin and cockpit. So at least 2 sets of preamp outputs. Preferably 3 sets Front, rear, sub

That is a cool product that allows you to connect it to any radio if you don't need a new radio. If you are streaming audio you still control from the device. So yes you could use your phone.

That is what I do...even turn volume up and down. I have a Sony head unit, 2 amps and all JL Audio.

to answer your question, yes... As far as I'm aware all current model Headunits with Bluetooth, support the streaming audio profile. So anything you do from your phone will broadcast through your stereo. Yes you can use it as a remote of sorts. However realize that electronics do not like, direct sunlight or moisture. I allways reccomend storing your phones/ipods in a cool dry place.

I prefer direct control of the phone though the headunit. Just add some nice remotes with display, and call it a day. Streaming BT audio does drain the battery somewhat faster, a direct connector however charges the phone. You will also get better sound with a direct connector.

Check out the Kenwood KMR 700u. or if you must have Bluetooth check out the Kenwood KDC 952hd

Cheap way to cheat and get dual zone, so long as you don't need both zones at the same time and are using aftermarket amplifiers: Put a toggle on the remote lead to the amps, and get a headunit that allows you to turn the internal amplifer off. Hook the cockpit speakers to the speaker leads coming from the internal amp in the stereo. When you want to use the main speakers, turn the internal amp off and the toggle on; when just wanting the cabin speakers, turn the toggle off and internal amp on.

I have a sony xplod stereo in my cabin, using 3 amps to blast 18 speakers & 4 subs. Works great using bluetooth or plugging iphone into the usb port. I can control the itunes with all 3 remotes, for pandora can only control the volume when its plugged into the head unit. The sound is better plugged into the usb

I believe mine is an automotive stereo
