bravo 1 upgrades

all opinions appreciated...

i have recently repowered a 25 daytona with a 750 horsepower blown 540 BBC. before the inevitable boom happens, what upgrades should i do to the bravo 1 drive?

use existing case and add imco, maxmachine worx, or teague pltinum stuff ??

completly replace with xr?

completly replace with b-max?

what is the minimum i could get away with?? (o.k., the motor deal left the accounts drier than expected!!)

thanks in advance

I don't think I would rework the bravo. Just a waste of money, you have one thing on your side, not a lot of weight. I think I would go with the Bmax or Imco sc. I think the Imco's are cheaper. Hope this helps :)

Feasibility

As Bman indicated- you're better off selling your bravo as a take off and replacing with the drive of your choice. All the piece parts and labor in upgrading an existing drive add up fast vs buying and selling.

I put an XZ with a shorty on my 650 hp 25' Daytona over the winter, real pleased so far, oil change coming soon, the proof is in the accumulation of hours though. good luck!

You can upgrade your upper with new x, xz, xr gears and bearings. Also 1.25 propshaft and carrier is a must. New type vertical shaft helps. Imco can provide the last two more reasonable, Merc's kit for the upper unit upgrade, is probably more cost effective. Est. $2500 total.

Next step, Imco sc, sell yours, $5000 diff.

Merc's X cases can crack, both upper and lower(on high X cats).
