Having some engine trouble

2000 7.4 MPI (L29 - Gen VI)...

She sat for about a week and when I went to start up for a ride yesterday she would not start. Starter is turning well and she sounds like she almost wants to kick over but it wont hold. I read the codes (with an LED set up) and got 14 and 34. I was trying to start her for a good 10 to 15 minutes so maybe those codes just came up because, although she was trying to kick over it never did and that may have set off the low readings.

Anyway, gonna check the usual suspects in a few. A couple of quick questions for you engine masters...

Would one cylinder with low compression (about 100 as opposed to 150+ in all others) cause me to have a no start condition? Also, would a faulty MAP sensor cause a no run stituation?

Your help greatly appreciated

No and NO, but it will not accelerate properly and only go to about 2800 radically.

Do you hear the fuel pump coming on? Sounds like the relay went...that's happened to me before!

easiest things to check on your own is fuel as suggested above and spark. Your engine will run with most sensors crapped out. Another slight possibility is that your iac is stuck closed but make sure you have fuel pressure at the rail by either listening for the pump to cycle or pressing the schrader valve on the test port on the rail first.
