Ignition question
 

I would like to lock out my ignition on my bbc blower motor. I am using a MSD 6-AL box and a thunderbolt distributor with v-6 module currently. I know that this can be accomplished with a MSD distributor easy enough, but want to know if anybody has figured out how to merge the hall effect output of the merc distributor to the MSD box. I hate to buy an expensive "pick-up" when I already have one.....

Looks like a MSD 8570 distributor might be the ticket.

BRAD, WHEN I WAS HOOKING MY MSD 6-AL BOX ON MY OLD BOAT I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM, I CALLED THEM AND THEY WALKED RITE THREW IT WIRE BY WIRE WHILE I WAS ON THE PHONE AND IT WORKED ! GIVE THEM A CALL.

The guys at MSD told me that the 6-al box will not directly hook up to the hall-effect pickup of a merc thunderbolt distributor without the ignition module. I was wondering if anybody had a simple way to link the two...

Brad, you can make it work, I am not sure if I remeber this correctly but I think one of the mag pick up wires (don't remeber which) goes to the R/W terminal (on the distributor), the white MSD wire goes to the G/W terminal. The only problem is that you will have locked advance.
