454 thermostat water sensor misfit
 

Does anyone know if there is a water temperature sensor that has NPT threads on it? My new GLM thermostat housing has NPT threads, but my original temperture sensor has straight threads. As a result, I can't screw the temperature sensor more than 2 threads in to the "replacement" housing. Anyon'e help is appreciated. I have a 1992 454 Gen V engine.
