Changing windshield to fiberglass

Been thinking about removing my windshield on my 1986 ls 272 and integrating a fiberglass into the body? Any thoughts?

Why not, if you like to be different from the crowd.
Just do a mock up first, then if you don't like it , you can always put the windscreen back on again.

The only downside could be the influence any mods may have on the future resale value.
But that could go either way.
If the new deflector makes the boat look more modern, the boat value could go up.
If the buyer wants a windscreen, the value goes down.
For me, the decision is always in the moment - so the question is what do I want?

My 382 never had a windscreen when I purchased it, so I improvised and made a FG deflector.
Personally I think it turned out alright, but I'm biased.

See http://www.offshoreonly.com/forums/f...p-sides-3.html

What influenced my decision was there are many brands out there without windscreens and the majority look mean as.

If that's what "you" want, I say go for it.
But if you go that route, expect a lot more work than you first anticipated! :-)

Think I'm going for it. I think it will update the look and sleak it down a bit. Re-sale no matter, it a ongoing project that I intend to enjoy and keep a while. Thanks for the link and pics like the look.

Keep us posted on the update with a few pictures along the way.
I always like to watch " projects" take shape.
