When it goes.....it really goes.....need XR's now
I guess. Why is it that when anyone else blows a drive......they just need a gear set or shaft or something not as major as a complete drive.
So, I guess XR's are the next thing. I remember someone talking about a really nice price on XR's (1:35) with the kits. Does anyone remember Or even, the person who has XR shaft kits for under $800.00? |
Well tell us about it. How fast were you running when the drive went south? What let loose? What drive do (did) you have? Enough questions?
I have been reading that the XZ is holding up better that the XR's. Hope this is true since I have XZ. I know I should not talk but have 92+ hrs & no problem yet. Had friend this weekend that now has a 3 blade prop instead of 4 blade. He said he was running 90+, then slowed down & that's when he noticed the vibration. When blade left it left deep grove in cavitaton plate but that is only other damage found. |
When it went, I was just getting up on plane, and with a cat....it just starts to cavitate....then it hooks.....that's when it happened. Bravo I HP w/LWP (port side) Last Aug...starboard side. Airborne on a rouge wave. Both times took out upper gears, lower shaft twisted, and warped cases.
1:36 gears, run Bravo I 30 Props or 15 X 35 cleavers. I did install 1.25" XR shafts in the lowers about 8 hrs into owning the boat Now might as well do the entire XR thing. Have not yet looked into XZ's |

Enticer,
Your not the only one, my brother took out the upper on our XZ drive last summer. 8 days before going out of warranty:eek: I later found out he had been nailing the stick all the way down to see how fast he could take off:mad: Corrected that problem.:D |
