Electrical issue. It is not running 240 or it would pure steam.

you can check sender with ohm meter(0-90) hooked onto sender in hot cup or pot, same with t-stat. normally when guage acts up on panel it will have partner guage to act up also, so check grounds and power connections on guages.

Are you pumping water out the exhaust? Just might be a bad impellor.

I agree with MOP. Not only check for grounds at dash but also on the engine as well. Computers do not work well with corroded wire terminals. If that is good then maybe check your sendeds and gauges. Ground out the sender on the engine and check gayge for pegging to high side. If not then it could be bad wiring, bad sender or a bad gauge. If u still have problems, e-mail me

Guess if you drove it long enough, the motor would have cooled down just by all the water surrounding it.

probably the wrong sender on the motor, you probably have a oil temp sender in there. different ohm's.
