Where to buy OEM BBC parts??

I have a standard bore 454 Magnum Mark IV that needs to go 30 over due to a leaking manifold causing some cylinder damage. I am having it machined and am going to need to buy at a minimum new forged pistons and a cam (stock). What is a good source for this stuff?? Thanks!!

The machine shop that is doing your work is a very good source. They probably deal with multiple parts warehouses and someone always has a deal going.

The owner is a good guy. He was upfront and said they don't mind ordering the parts and was honest that he takes about a 10 - 15% markup. He said I was more than welcome to get parts and bring them in so I at least wanted to educate myself on the options.

for 10 to 15 % i would keep it all under one roof..this is so he cant say well you brought me the parts just incase something goes wrong in the future,,make sure you suggest J&E or SRP forged pistons..as for a camshaft,,it would be foolish not to upgrade the existing cam..look into a comp cams extreme marine 268 i believe is their mild version but is still way better then the stock cam..the 270 has a lopy idle but makes really good power..

I agree. The machine shop can most likely buy parts cheaper than you can. So when he marks them up, it is probably about the same as you could get them from mail order (Jeg's, Summit, etc) Plus if there are any issues with wrong or inferior parts, you don't have to deal with it.

Capt. jack - appreciate the PM and sorry for the late reply. After reading everyone's post and talking to the shop I agree that my best option is to let them order the parts. He already gave me a price for OEM quality components that seems reasonable. Thanks everyone!
