Why can.t you wire the coil hot direct from the battery and run it and see if the problem still exists? Can the coil have 12 volts or does it need the resistance if it does wire a resistor inand jump the harness and go right from the battery with it.

I couldn't sail if you handcuffed me to one, riding 32mph on dad sea ray is bad enough torture!!! LOL

I have the plan, just gotta get to the boat!!

find the purple wire before the 10 pin canon plug. strip back insulation and add another wire. run that wire to pos of coil. leave the rest of the purples hooked up. it can also be a problem with a connection in the big plug...

I wouldnt even waste my time building a harness, for what these cost. You can get a whole new 'boat' side, and whole new 'engine' side for less than 150.00.

Tapped into purple right after plug engine side, problem gone!!
She ran better then ever this weekend...
