What's the latest info on Mobile V-Twin 20-50?
I'm thinking about switching my oil from Brad Penn 20W-50 semi synth to Mobil V-twin 20-50. I've seen it for sale at the local Farm and Fleet. I thought I read at one point that the quality or some other type of issue came up with the recent formula for the V-twin oil?? Not sure. What's the latest scoop.........??

The issue was with 15w-50 gold cap not the V-Twin.
I switched from 15w-50 to the 20w-50 V-Twin this year. I went from using 1qt/engine every 2 weeks to adding only 1/2qt this weekend to one engine for the first time this year. I am thoroughly impressed. |
napa has mobil one on sale this mounth 5.89 qt.

I don't think the new Mobil V-Twin 20W-50 has zinc in it anymore. The original formula did, as I recall. The color of the new stuff is lighter. What that means I am not sure. I have had great luck with V-Twin in several years of use. My oil temperature stays down better with it than 15W-50 M1. I am thinking of trying Amsoil Z-Rod 20W-50 next time because of the zinc that it has. I have a Gen 5 non-roller 502 so the extra wear protection that zinc offers should make my motor last longer.

It still has the Zinc and other goodies. I agree my oil temps dropped also.
