Is Melling 10777 Oil Pump still available
#1

Bob M. recommended that I run this pump instead of the 10778 - it has the same heavy duty features as the 10778, but runs closer to stock pressure and volume. I cannot find it for sale anywhere. Have a call in to Melling, but they have not called me back yet.

Well, I got a call back from Melling, and the 10777 has been discontinued, along with the 10775. And I got it straight from the horse's mouth that the 10777 is in fact a HV pump, like the 10778 - the difference is that the 10777 uses the threaded pickup inlet while the 10778 does not - aside from that, they are identical. Currently the 10778 is the only pump they make with the extended shafts that go thru the cover for extra support. The 10775 was a standard volume version that had the heavy duty features of the 10777 / 10778, including the billet gears and the extended shafts. I might try to find someone that still has one of those laying around.
Second choice may be a 10774, which is a standard volume pump with the billet gears, moly drive shaft, but without the extended gear shafts.
