tach question
 

Hi,

I recently refinished my dash panels as a part of my fall to do list..was very careful with doing eveything one wire at a time, etc. Got eveything back together and turned the key on...everything seemed fine other than the tach went directly to 6 and hovered back around 5800. I turned the key back to off and it went back to 6, and did the same thing when I tried it again. My problem is the boat is already winterized and I can't start it....I know, dumb on my part! Eveything was working fine before and I labeled all the wires as I went...not sure if it will just correct itself once the engine is running. I would hate to stew about it all winter...any ideas? Its a late 1990s Faria tach on a Volvo 5.7 if it helps.
