Twin prop rotation
Have my first twin drive boat
runnng stock 330 7.4 's with bravo i not a speed demon. Can i run both standard rotation? I know it will pull -but how bad? I've heard - good and bad- that you can run bravos either direction.. Opinions/suggestions |
Why on earth would you want them spinning in the same direction? Spin them out.

i'd rather have counter rot. But my drives/eng. Are standard rot. -hence the reversing the bravo to left rot. Can it be done? I've heard it both ways yes and don't do it |
WOW... Don't do that. Dangerous and real bad idea. Sell one to buy the other. Spin out

the port drive is ran in reverse off the top gear to get left-hand rotation for spinning the props out. The cables are setup on the shifters so that when you move them forward the starboard drive is shifted into forward and the port drive is shifted into reverse.
I'd heard it could be done-but my mechanic frowned on it |
Find a new mechanic... Both engines rotate the same. Like Knot said its in the gears. Every boat with twins has a LH drive and RH drive. The drive doesn't care which way its spinning.

Yes, the Port drive is always trying to walk the upper gear thru the top cap but as long as you don't abuse it thru too much HP, hole shots, improper throttling, etc. you will get hundreds of hours of service out of both drives.
