Whipple 2300ax oil?

Want to change the oil in mine but not sure what to put in it? From what I have read, I cannot find the exact answer...seems like everyone uses something different. The most common was either 5w-50 or 15w-50 Mobil 1 but was reading a post from Eddie young that it could be something different? Thanks

Just asked Eddie because I was getting ready to change mine. He said that he has been using an oil from a company called nye but Castrol syntec 20w-50 was very good. I'm going to use my Mobil1 Vtwin 20w-50 since I've got a bunch of it.

my whipple 8.3Ls came with amsoil manual synchromesh transmission fluid, its thin but lubricates gears well.

The 5L/8.3 uses the Amsoil Synchormesh. The smaller blowers get the Castrol Syntec or the Nye oil

With my 2300ax, which I think is a 2nd generation, top mount...would I use the Castrol straight 50 or 20w-50 or???

Also, what about Mobil 1? Hear people using it and I'm a fan of Mobil and also have a lot of the 20w-50 vtwin (which is supposed to be good for high heat) laying around but only want to use what is recommended and what is "best"?

Thanks?

Use Castrol Syntec 5W50.
