Texas 540 Hawk pressure drops after seconds..knock at the back of the engine and..???
TEXAS - Looking for a good economic Engine Mechanic Corpus Christi/ Rockport Area!
Any advice here and help would be greatly appreciated, also the boat has no trailer ie someone would need to see the boat take it away or the engine needs to be pulled most likely.. Here is the problem.. The engine has three issues (port) when you start the engine it has a pressure of 50psi then within 20 seconds or so it drops down to 20psi, the engine was shut down then...droped oil tube? Someone who had a look at it thinks the first is a cam problem, which probably needs to be replaced (flat spot), there where some adjustments made to the valve backlash..already in the past and now the problem resurfaced. The second problem is a knock in the back of the engine, which could be a rod bearing worn or slipped. Thank's!:readinghelp: |
sounds like a bent or broke push rod and its layinr in the lifter valley.

Thank's..what causes this..and will the engine need to be pulled
to replace the push rod..if that's the case..or could there be a more serious problem? |
If, indeed it has flat cam lobe, the metal from the cam lobe circulating in the oil could have taken out a bearing.
