water crossover kits--worth it?

hey guys, looking for your opinions on the water crossover kits. i'm running a 502/502,with lightning exhaust,bravo1. Are there any noticable gains getting rid of the water pump?or does it just clean up the engine compartment. any down sides to going to them? let me know thanks!

They look great but you may have problems with condensation forming in the motor. It will make your oil look like chocolate milk. The added pressure from not having the water pump could blow out your intake manifold gasket unless your thermostat has holes drilled in it. It was recommended to me to drill 8-1/8" holes. I still have problems with condensation. Unless you just want the look or are having overheating problems, I'd leave it alone.

I have zero problem with mine. I do run a thermostat with the holes drilled.

I think a closed system is first, stock system second and Xover if you are running blower and have to.Just my thought as I went with X over no blower and am going back to stock.

I run Blowers with stock water pumps.....no problems.
crossovers seem like to many problems for a couple H.P.

I would leave it stock, otherwise you'll be chasing excess wp pressure problems.

If I had to do it all over again, I would probably buy aluminum water pumps and have them polished. Take the brass impeller off the stock.

CONDOR24...

Last three boats, two twins and one tripple, all had Stainless Marine systems on them... No problem at all... Current is three small blower motors (525SC) and everything is working fine...
Just a note, when they are purchased new the thermostats with
passage are provided... A bypass application is another must to
keep the headers wet also... Best of luck...

Tnx, Karl
