question about bravo trim cylinders
 

I'm looking for a starboard side trim cylinder. Looking on ebay prices range from like $100 to $400. Does anyone's no the difference between these aftermarket ones and the originals and is the quality the same? Also I would be interested in buying a used one if anyone had one available part # 98704. Thanks for any info Jason.

There are some trim cylinders for sale on the Detroit CL. No idea what they fit.

I had a problem a couple years back where my drive would not stay up. It turned out to be a leaking ram. I ended up buying a mercrusier rebuild kit, had a local marine shop unscrew the end caps, did the rebuild myself and then had the end caps tightened back up.
Taking it apart and replacing the seals is really straight forward and quite easy. If you do the rebuild....I suggest using the mercrusier kit and not the Sierra kit. I don't know if this info will help you or not but I thought I'd at least throw it out there for you. Good luck, Mark

I'm going to put seal kits in all four when I find a replacement for the one I'm having a problem with. the hydraulic line looks like it cross threaded going into the cylinder and smushed the little fitting inside. Ran for two years like this with no problems but now I'm getting strawberry milk inside the resivoir.

Same thing happen to me. I had water mixing with my trim fluid. I did also replace all four outer trim lines at the sáme time (forgot about that till you mentioned it). I found them on ebay being offered by some "marine parts outlet". They started jacking the bid up on their own item in the last minute of the auction, I was out bid, then received a "second chance" offer as soon as the auction was over....kind of p/o'd me because it was pretty shady and so obvious what they had done. Unfortunately I needed the parts so I bought them.
