I have a friend over in the states who is going to pick me up a couple of iac valves for my 496HO he is getting them from a auto store ,what year 8.1 chevy truck should he buy them for or are they all the same ? my 496HO s are 2001. THANKS FOR ANY HELP .

There not from a Chevy truck, they used an electronic throttle, no IAC. Its actually from a Ford vehicle so its a Motorcraft part. A 99 Ford Windstar has something similar but its not identical. For this one, I would just get from Mercury.

If you do a search the Ford part # has been listed in a few different threads. I just got mine from www.wholesalemarine.com. Make sure to get new gaskets too.

I bought a ford one,the connector faced the intake so you couldnt plug it in. I just ponied up and bought the merc one.
