Looking at a boat with no title? Can I get a title some how?
 

I found a 10' cougar cat locally and it does not have a title...is there a way I can get another one?
Its a cool little boat and I'd like to restore it

If anyone knows what I could do please chime in

It will vary by state call your dmv they will let you know what you need to do

Depends what state your in.. some don't title boats. Check with DMV to see who its registered under and they will issue title with clear BOS.

I'll call my DMV and see what they say

Mass is a very strict title state, but we don't have titles for boats under 14', and out of state purchases just need a copy of the last reg with a bill of sale.

The cougar cub I sold didn't have a title just registration in Michigan

Was it blue? It could of made it all the way over here in Pa

under 12 feet in PA you are golden. just go to a tag service who deals with boats. they have a form for boats under 12 foot with no known owner. you hafta stretch the truth a little and say the reg numbers are not readable. not the HIN, the PA 1234 AB stick-on numbers. unless the HIN comes back as stolen, they will give you a reg. i did this with a seadoo inflatable boat a few years ago. it was actually 13 foot. i shortened it a bit on paper...
