Ok going to do valve springs this winter on my 2004 500EFI's

Anything change since 2012?

What is the original install height of the the valve springs

Thanks

I have a valve spring mic if you need it Mark. Also have a nifty valve spring compressor , that works great for compressing the springs when the heads are on the engine. It actually locks in place when the spring is compressed, which helps when fighting to get the locks positioned right. The old prybar style i had, jesus, hands would be killing me after a while.

Thanks Joe we may take you up on the spring compressor. Kenny has a mic and spring tester. But he has an old school compressor

Probably work on them after the Holidays

Could you possibly post the make and model of your compressor? Probably looking at doing springs this winter and anything to make it easier would be great.:)

Eddie

Eddie, do you use the stock retainers or have you changed them to 10deg?

Thanks
Mark

I would do complete top ends. Head gaskets, springs, valve job and thorough inspection of lifters and rockers and clean injectors.
It should be good to go for at least another 330 hrs after that.

i agree except for the 330 hour part,250 sounds better imo.at least on the springs but if easy on them maybe 300 hrs.
