My boat has this exact one installed in the engine bay, it worked well but got kind of tedious opening the hatch then pulling the anchor, climbing across the boat then up on the bow (well you guys know the drill). So we decided to get a duffle bag that's just the right size for the anchor and rope with a clip to hook the chain to it and two different length ropes. One if we are at the island where it isn't deep we have a 40' rope and then an additional 150' rope in the bag if its ever needed. Then we use a clip to clip the handles of the bag to the rail and leave it all on deck. No scratching the paint and its easy to hand up. Just a suggestion. It's also easy to put back in the cabin under the seat too
But yes the anchor holder works well.
