oil pump pickup choice
 

I have get a new melling 10778 pump and now it is time to chosse the right oil pickup. The pan is the oem 8 qt mercruiser 525 sc generation 6 and the height is 8 3/4 where the old pickup is at his place.

I think this is extremely important to have the right one to have the right emplacement in the pan.

What is the most pickup use in that application?

I usually use Canton. They have a variety of lengths to fit most pans.

the part number you are looking for is 241s melling ,ive put dozens of these on no problem same one merc uses. hope this helps

When I did mine in 05 the moroso pickup looked like good quality, I just bought new moroso ones and they look cheap!!

i will not buy moroso again,prob imports
