What kind of life expectancy for wet blowers???

The chargers in this boat are wet chargers so how long will they run before they have to be relined, freshened up etc?

What other cons are there to running these?

Seriously, no one is running these now? No one knows anything about these? Is injected dry air chargers the only thing going now?

So, tell me what kind they are. Who's product is this? I can't see enough to tell the build/brand.

Those are blower shop billet pieces. Quality stuff. I would think a couple hundred hours. Call blower shop. They are very helpful and will tell you what they recommend.

THanks. I needed something to go on. Never heard of blower shop and most all my work, that I can remember anyway, has been dry air chargers so I was at a loss.

Roots "wet" blowers been around forever in the marine stuff. Mercury started using them over 20 years ago. They work really well, and simple.

I never thought I would want a wet blower due to a shorter life span between work, as I understood back in the 80's.

The Blower Shop was very helpful and I have a better understanding on some of the service issues with this style of blower now. I think I could work with this style of blower knowing the nature of the beast and how to deal with it.
Fuel contamination in the oil is the primary service focus regarding bearings and gears. Keeping the oil in the front good and the bearings in the rear greased properly will keep one of these wet boys alive a long time according to what the Blower Shop said. These service points don't bother me at all. Pulling them off for pricey work does.
