Head gaskets
I have a 502/540,,,what is the fel pro part number for this? Had the heads totally reworked. Thanks Chris J.

Fel-Pro 17048 is a great gasket for your application.

That gasket works great as long as you're still running a 4.500 bore. You can save yourself $30-$40 by ordering #1047. It's the automotive equivalent and comes in a different wrapper but it's identical and has the 17048# stamped right on the gasket.

I just tore a couple of gen 6 502's apart and they have the 17048 gaskets, so I went on Summit's web site and the 17048 is a dollar cheaper than the 1047....I know this thread is two years old, someone must of tipped them off.

What's the difference between the 17042 and 17048? Std bore 502.
|
the 17042 is for a 4.370 bore 454.... and the 17048 up to a 4.540 bore 502 or 540 depending on rod length and stroke...........that's how Summit has them listed
