oil cooler plumbing

hey guys about to buy a bunch of parts including oil coolers..
what i have are 454,s and i was using just the spin on stock oil filter.. is there a way to plumb a oilcooler to it with out buying a adapter etc? i was thinking tap into one of the oil passages by the oil filter and worse case return thru the fuel pump block off plate being im using electric fuel pumps.. or is there a fitting on the oilfilter side i can return in ?

Also any one know what i.d size hose is used on a alpha coming from the transom assemby water tube to the cooler?

Just buy the adapter and be done with it. You can not return it like your talking, you'll bleed off all your oil pressure!
