Audio: Feedback through Amplifier with Trim
Hi Audio professionals.
I'm trying to isolate feedback I get through my amplifier when using the drive trim. Feedback comes as a loud click/pop when using the trim. I have 2 batteries, wired through a battery selector switch. Trim negative and amp negative is on battery, trim positive and amp positive is on selector switch so I can turn them right off. Note that I did have them direct on the battery with the same outcome. Happens regardless of battery voltage, same intensity all the time. Amps are an Audison SRX4 and a Hertz RDP-1 but that shouldn't matter. Any recommendations? I do not get engine / alternator noise, only trim "pops" thanks |
run separate batteries just for the stereo . also id check the grounding . sounds like a grounding issue

The pop is from a sudden hi amp demand from a "like" grounding point.
You can isolate them by putting a house bank and motor/trim bank, or put a minimum 500 uf cap inline on both power and ground to the amp.....if it still has a minor pop after that, put another on the power and ground going to the trim solenoids.... |
