Fuel Return

I was looking at a ProCharger fuel system the other day. I noticed it was not returned back to tank. Fuel was returned right before the pump. Is this adequate?

I have installed a few whipples that use the same process. The whipple kit returns the fuel from the regulator through a cooler and then back to the 2nd inlet on th fuel filter.
Same principle as shown in your post. I have fuel pressure monitored and I've never seen a drop. |

i believe magnaflow has a dead-head style pump..but most applications are run back to tank. i am doing this same thing on my setup..boat came with system like what you posted on your first post..after talking with numerous guru's..ideal scenario is back to the tank..not the easiest, but right way

Mine returns to the fuel filter after going thru a cooler. Based on Coast Guard regs, it is not supposed to be returned to the tank. But a lot of boats are set up that way...

I send mine back to inlet of pump and it works just fine, even at 1000+ hp. I am sending it thru a cooler though, Smitty

Mine are also set up to return to aux fittings on Hardin filters. Works fine, provided you fill the filters prior to installing to prime the system. I have aeromotive pumps, and all -12 lines, so if it isn't primed manually, it will never prime. When installing the system for the first time and the rails are dry, I had to fill the filters a couple times since all the air gets purged back to the filter.
