Gen six 502 casting numbers
Hello all. I'm looking at a 502 and the casting number reads: 19165956.
I cannot find any info whatsoever on his casting number. I've searched for quite awhile and I have exhausted all the online info. My concern is that it is a generation six roller cam block. Is it a fact that only gen six blocks have the aluminum six bolt timing cover? Thanks, rob |
Yes, if it's a Gen VI block, it will have a 6 bolt timing cover. They are the only ones with that cover. If it's a Gen VI, it will also have a factory roller cam.

That is GM's latest ( and possibly last) iteration of the BBC block. The 19165956 casting number is not yet listed, however the part number is 19170540. Very nice piece.
