Should I change my oil?
 

Hey guys, just wondering if I should change my oil before I take the boat out. I changed the motor oil and gear oil on 7/13/12 but only put 10hrs on it and its been parked and covered since! The oil doesn't look brand new, but doesn't look horrible either.

Any input would be great....

Also noticed my white seats look a little yellowish, any way to bring them back to white?

I would check level a and wait till after the season for oil change.. but yours is s/c.. so depending how hard you ran it for those 12 hrs...

For your interior.. try letting it sit in the sun, it will help whiten it!!

Hopefully I will take the boat out tomrrw then finally get to clean and apply vaseline to all the seams and threads! I figure it helps keep water out and helps keep the vinyl and threads soft and reduce dry rot! Finally treat with 303 UV!

If the sun doesn't help.. after treating with vaseline.. I had to take a cloth and a lil tilex staying away from seams and not spraying direct. Made the vinyl look really white again, but reapply 303 again after washing tilex residew off.

I didn't run too hard so I'll Waite! So you say to put gasoline on the vinyl or just the seams and threads, or both? I use the 303 UV but haven't tried the cleaner, maybe I'll try that too! It's been to windy here to splash mine, along with water levels being soo low.

Is she still the size of a oil tanker to you or have you gotten use to her? My buddy's 38zx is a monster, blows me away when I'm next to it. He said it isn't as big to him anymore, all I see is a cruise ship , lol!

Nautical Ease Spray Boat Cleaner. The most amazing stuff I have used on interior vinyl hands down. After cleaning with Nautical Ease apply 303 protectant. I used 4 different products on my white vinyl that claimed to be the best and none of them worked. Spray the Nautical Ease on let it sit for a few seconds then wipe with a soft microfiber towel. The best way to use it is with a Mr. clean magic eraser.

Cleaning upholstery is cheap. Fixing engines is not cheap, I'd change the oil = cheap insurance.....just say'n

I would change it for sure.

oil will pick up contaminents, condesation etc, change it. It's under $100 and less than hour. That's cheaper than an hour at a good bar with 2 friends!! lol
