Sounds like you have done your homework. When some one mentioned 185 degree temps earlier in this thread I was worried, those temps would destroy a 575 rather quickly.

Aluminum heads would be a great upgrade seeing that you are going closed. And would help with detonation issues should the temps increase.

I was running 185 on a N/A 540 with afr heads. It probably would hold 150 F. I wanted temp.

Running at 185* is not a problem. No way you should run that hot with salt water in the engine. Even though I run strickly in salt water, my engine runs 180*. I can get away with it because I run closed cooling.
