trying to understand what exhaust is needed and why
 

I am currently equipped with a 454 mag moo in my bananas it has silent choice exhaust. We blew ahead gasket first trip out this season so I'm looking to do a motor swap. I've found a 502 with a really healthy cam. The shop was saying I will need to switch exhaust or upgrade do to the cam but was curious if there is a way to keep the silent choice or if I need to ditch it and go dry and new system completely. I'm really trying to minimize the spending as the motor has sucked up a lot but also want it right. I just don't want to have to cut anything new into the transom but I don't want to compromise cam or performance
