Prop in good shape?
Have you checked all of the plug wires and spark plugs?

I have no idea what your problem is but when you get it fixed you should be running closer to 5,300 on top end. Manual says 5,250; Rev limiter comes in at 5,400.

Sounds like it is down a cylinder but toss a scanner on it first. Boat is way over-propped.

Plug wires look good , going to get the motor scanned. The props on the boat are original from fountain but are in fair shape i just purchased new merc lab 32's for it hopefully that will help after I get the motor sorted out. I think I lost a cyclinder also.

Given the boats you have listed, IMHO it would be a strong move to pick up a Rinda scanner. www.rinda.com
I just picked up the pigtails to play with my neighbor's 2013 40HP outboard as well.

You are going to drop $500 bucks, but it's worth it if you have to wait once or twice for 2 weeks to get a service appointment for a $50 sensor; even if under warranty.

Share the cost with a couple of boating buddies and/or neighbors. http://www.rinda.com/marine/marine.htm#merctool

I prefer the scanner over the laptop software as I normally take the scanner with me everywhere, vs. a laptop. It's ridiculously easy to use, just like a code scanner for your ODBII port on your car, except better.

If you can take a simple compression test, and make sure each hole is pretty close in pressure. Then run for codes.
