One hose goes from the transom to the seapump. The other hose goes from the seapump => under motor => cooler ( Torpedo shaped thing) => engine.. depending on year/motor you may have a couple coolers (steering, oil etc) Those are the coolers they are taking about checking back flushing

That end plate looks normal.

Pull each hose off from the thermostat back to the sea water pump and back flush, it really sounds like something is stuck in there.

The diagram is the at the aft looking forward, this should be the one for your motor based on the year, but may be slightly different.

Yes. 95% of all debris will collect at the entrance to the oil cooler.

Thanks for all the help guys. I looked last night for a hour to try and figure it out and I just can't seem to find the cooler.... Is it hidden??? Thought it would be right there and pull the hose off and feal inside... Could not locate even after diagrams etc

Looking at the front of your motor, the hose on the right side of the thermostat hosing is the feed. It goes right then 90 down to the oil cooler which is mounted to the front of the motor. It is kind of hidden between the Alternator and circulating pump on the very front of the head on port side of motor. You need to pull the hose off the bottom of the cooler. If you want to back flush it, remove the hose from the sea water pump and lay in the bottom of the boat, then remove that hose on the thermostat housing and stuff the garden hose in it wrapped with a rag to seal it. Turn on the water it will push most stuff out. Also pull the hose off the top of the cooler and run a wire through the small holes to make shure they are all open and not half plugged with sand or debris (old Impeller).
You may have one exhaust partly plugged also, but I would start with cleaning oil cooler and then backflushing.
