You have the very first gen of the VST tank. I thought they were all recalled??? I would have to search the TSB from Mercruiser. Any wey, your clearish yellow line I have no idea WTF it is. Looks like the bypass hose form the mechanical pump.
The vent on your is the 90 degree fitting with black hose and a hose clamp on it, just below your yellow one. At some point in time it has been replaced with black fuel line (no harm or foul, you just cant see fuel flow threw it). That is your vent that leads to #8 runner on your intake. That is where the fuel dumps when the diaphram fails. |
92nsx, i did see a recall on some of the vst tanks.. i couldnt get my serial # because the first few #'s and letter are missing so i didnt know if mine fell in that range for the recall! thats good to know that those were the ones for the recall...
so this is what i have found with mine..i ran it all weekend long and DID NOT have any fuel coming out my exhaust.... or anywhere else it should not be coming out....so im guessing when i replaced the mechanical pump on the water pump a small piece of dirt or something got in the line and stuck in the needle and seat and held it open... thanks for all your advise and help..and everyone else who has replied and sent pics to help me out......greatly appreciated and saved me some $$$$$ more gas money!!! . |
