496 Oil Cooler, where to buy!
 

Helping a buddy with a 496 that spun a rod bearing and we want to replace the oil cooler. Merc wants 3 hundo for a replacement. Are there any replacements available out there that are a better deal, or maybe an upgraded cooler that would be better?

Looks like you can get the Quicksilver part on ebay for $250 and there's an aftermarket part for $159 here.

Thanks Plum_crazy, the Mr. Cool looks like a good deal and easier to swallow than the 250-300 for the Merc unit. I was just looking up the PN: so I could go searching.

Make sure that's the correct part for your 496. I just picked the one that would work for mine and they're not all the same PN.

Thanks, I noticed that there are different ones depending on serial number. I just got a picture from my friend and his looks different, but they have that one also.
