What did Bob say about running 10:1 with Iron heads?
|
Mike,
During the initial inquiry I collected the best data on the mechanical parameters available in an attempt to validate the assumed mechanical compression ratio. We do this with all valvetrain programs to insure we make accurate decisions based upon accurate data. In this case, given: 4.500” Bore 4.250” Stroke .020” nominal deck .027” gasket 116cc combustion chamber volume -3 cc piston crown volume/flat top w/ one valve relief = 9.439 mechanical CR without factoring in land volume. This information appreciably alters the decision making process on more than one level. Bad data=bad decisions Bob |
Thanks Bob- I had a feeling the data he was using was incorrect. As always, it's great you are here to help all of us out, make sure our engines are designed properly, and know all of the pro's and con's about our decisions. I hope you're having a great summer!
