Exhaust question

39TG with 700's and Stellings exhaust. The tails go through the transom without tips. All the water besides what go's through the jackets comes out a nipple past the transom. I do have slip in silencers, but they do very little on plane. At idle, it's tame. What can I do to quite this thing down?

My Powerplay has Stellings too. They dump at the end of the tails. I was 106db + at idle with the switchables closed when I got ticketed last year. I put bolt on Gibson mufflers on. They did the trick, haven't been checked yet. I'm sure it's legal now, I haven't been stopped yet. I noticed how loud you were last weekend when you left our cove, You're right, you sounded tame idling down past my dock, but once you put it on plane I could hear you way past the bridge. Did you get pulled over ?

I have the 4.5" clamp ons

Thanks for the reply John
What do I do about the bungs coming out? I think they'll interfere with clamp ons. I couldn't care less about te WP, it's just annoying running it hard.

Is the bung your talking about where the water dumps out at the end of the tails. I had to cut those flush with the end of the tails. Then the Mufflers slipped straight on after that. Unless yours are different than mine. My mufflers were drilled for a screw on the top side besides the clamps. Sort of a safety measure so their sure not to come off. They didn't seem to hurt performance any top speed didn't change, but you run your boat a lot harder than I do.
