500 efi issues

Been having an idling issue with my starboard motor. Missing pretty bad. I've swapped every sensor from motor to motor with no luck. No codes. I started out the process with a complete tuneup (plugs, wires, cap, rotor). I was thinking possible vacuum leak because the iac with jump way up right before it would get close to dying and then go back down. Then I started looking and noticed the plug wires on this motor(starboard) were ran differently to the cap than the port motor? So I swapped them to match port motor and now it won't start at all? Are they suppose to be the same or are they different? Only pat I haven't changed is the the actual distributor. Any help would be great. 3 weeks and counting with no boat rides!

What do you mean, the plug wires were ran differently????

On different spots on the dis cap than on the port side.

That really does not matter as long as it is timed correctly and tehy are in the proper firing order.
Moving plug wires around without knowing exactly what you are doing will screw up all kinds of stuff.

I did some research and figured that out. Got it up and running, but still runs bad. Hoping I can get a mechanic over there this week. Boat is down at the lake so I only get a couple days to mess with it.
Prior this issue I had a lean pop, turned out the regulator was clogged up so put a new one on and got fuel pressure back up and pop gone. Now have this issue. Wondering now if possibly something may have gotten through the filter to cause this?

Then you need to be sure every component of your fuel system is clean and clear. Remember your boat is on it's 14th Summer.

After running lean it could have the old hole in the piston skip
