Borg Warner 1018 slipping question....???

I bought used power out of a boat I know, ran the boat to marina and one trans lost fluid to the point of a slip, so I came in on one engine, added fluid and it went in and out of gear fine and firm....
Later found the leak to be at the fitting tapped for the pressure gauge, someone must have hit it and put a small crack in it... I put a plug since I don't have gauges for pressure on Cig... (yet)
Put the power into my Cig, trans was good till 4200 then slipped (not leaking now) then came to idle, was fine, at first I thought I blew a prop out, but no.... after this it went to 3000 fine then slips....

fluid looks clean, trans don't feel any hotter then other...soooo... is there anything to look at besides a rebuild?

When in Scarab pressures read 100 psi all the time....is that normal? the other one seems fine and the one that's bad now was fine till it went low on fluid...

Anyone have info??

BAM???

when the fluid got low the pressure on the clutchpack probibally got low and glazed the friction &steel plates, time to rebuild it.

Once the clutches lose fluid and get hot, they are dunzo. Have you noticed the prop turning while engine idling in neutral?

yes, once they slip, they are done...
